Science Objectives


The major observation targets for STEAMR within the UT/LS boundary are H2O, HDO, O3 anc CO. Target lines for these particular molecules are covered by the bandwidth of the STEAMR receivers, which will observe in two 12 GHz-wide frequency bands between 313-325 GHz and 343-355 GHz. Secondary target molecule species such as CH3CN, CH3Cl and HNO3 will also be observable within this frequency range. An example of the emission spectrum for these species is shown below.
