Opacity and integrated water vapour (IWV)

The tipping calibration delivers the opacity of the troposphere, which can be used to calculate the integrated water vapour ( Deuber et al. 2005).

Opacity for the last ten days as derived from tipping curve measurements (each 15 min., mean over entire bandwidth, 21.7-22.7 GHz)

Integrated water vapour amount (IWV) derived from MIAWARA opacity compared with IWV measurements from another microwave radiometer (TROWARA) located in Bern.
