Assess and improve the quality of atmospheric water vapour measurements

The main issue for the first work programme is to assess and improve the quality of atmospheric water vapour measurements and how to improve them.

This will also involve intercomparison campaigns and laboratory studies for in-situ techniques and validation of satellite measurements.

The aims shall be achieved by:

• Evaluation of the accuracy of existing and emerging measurement techniques
• Cross-validationof observations from diverse instruments and derivation of systematic biasis
• Merge the observations from different platforms

Findings of the workshops and publications from WAVACS can also serve as input to a upcoming water vapour assessment of SPARC.
